[Those who know Chekov might find his behavior this weekend peculiar by virtue of the fact that he seems to have disappeared. He's not tinkering with various "projects" in the living room, working at City Solutions, out running, or popping in on various acquaintances. Maybe it's time to try sending a message...]
[action; closed to Korra]
[In truth, Chekov has been busy planning. Those gaps in his memory have been something of a concern and, after nearly a day of navigating and hacking his way into various servers in the City, he knows the cause.
Korra has little to do with it, but she seems to be the only person his target has any attachments to (aside from the cat, perhaps, but a virus should be taking care of that). Chekov already has what should be enough to keep his target in line long enough for him to get what he wants; Korra is just insurance. When hopelessly outmatched by an opponent on a physical level, a little extra leverage is a necessity.
Midday on Sunday, Chekov walks up to Korra's apartment. They're friends; he doesn't need to complicate this with subterfuge. She should be home alone, he has checked to ensure that Naga isn't present, and she won't have any reason to suspect that he has a hypospray loaded with a neuromuscular-blocking drug on his person.
He knocks on the door.]
[private message to Hei // unhackable]
Li, Hei, BK-201. I know who you are and I am prepared to make my knowledge public if you fail to meet my demand, which I will share in person. I will give you until 20:00 to find me.
[Short and anonymous, but Hei will find it ridiculously easy to trace this message to a location in one of the City's more ominous areas, full of conveniently abandoned buildings.]
[ooc: Morality reversal curse! Chekov has an agenda and may not be amused by calls; feel free to contact him anyway.]

Just a minute!
[She pulls on her mustache shirt, slips on Chekov's necklace, and trudges to the front door, stretching. She smiles when she opens the door.]
Hey Chekov!
action;
He returns her smile.]
Korra, hello. Are you busy?
action;
Nope. Today's my day off. I'm just catching up on some sleep and then training.
action;
Your only day off? Sorry, sorry--should I come back later?
action;
No, it's fine. Cut that out! [That's addressed to one of the cats, who's trying to get outside. She quickly closes the door.] I hope you're not allergic to cats.
action;
[This is said without his usual humor and he doesn't bother petting the cats--something he would normally do. Now is a time to focus, not play with cats.]
There is something I would like to show you, but only if you are not busy.
action;
What is it?

[She follows him willingly enough]
action;
[Out of the apartment they go. Their destination isn't far.]

action;
[He shoots her a smile. It doesn't have much emotion behind it.
They're quickly entering one of the more run-down parts of the City: empty buildings, broken sidewalks, shattered widows.]
action;
Chekov. Where are we going?
action;
It's a shame Korra is the only person Hei seems to care about. She's too trusting.]
Just in here.
[He ducks into the building. It will be easiest if Korra simply follows, but there's no one around. It isn't strictly necessary.]
action;
She follows him in.]
action;
Chekov sneaks up on her, not giving her a chance to fight back. There's a hiss but no pain when the drugs are deployed--suxamethonium chloride with a pancuronium bromide chaser. The first affects Korra's skeletal muscles within seconds, beginning to relax them to a point where she can no longer move. The latter takes up to four minutes to kick in, but it lasts approximately two hours if given in the right dosage. It's a light dosage; Pavel wants Korra here as a back-up plan and he has no intention of killing her, accidentally or otherwise. As far as drugs go, these are the ones with the lowest likelihood of bringing about unpleasant side effects.
It will take a good five seconds for Korra to begin feeling the affects, but Chekov's ready to support her. She won't be fully paralyzed for nearly a minute.
Use that minute wisely, Korra.]
action;
[She stumbles, catching herself on Chekov. Despite the hiss, it doesn't occur to her that Chekov might have done something to her.]
Chekov's what happening?
action;
He stows the hypo in his jacket and talks to Korra in a quiet, reassuring voice.]
Nothing that should involve you, I hope. [You, Korra, are Plan B.] Don't fight it. Nothing I gave you will hurt you.
action;
[She tries to hit him, but her limbs aren't her own anymore.]
Why?
action;
[He half-drags her over to the far wall. Pavel does regret involving her; he hasn't lost his memories or, unfortunately, the emotions attached to them.
Only his ability to ignore those emotions has changed.]
I never rely solely on one plan.
action;
[it's getting harder to speak]
action;
[He eases her into a seated position.]
Korra, please calm down. What I gave you is virtually without side-effects and will wear off in... two hours, maybe.
action;
[How can she protect him from dying if she can't move?!]
