((Fumbling...clattering... More fumbling... Even more clattering... A muttered curse... Someone is trying to do something with this Network device...without much success...
The clattering continues--it's really almost rather rhythmic at the moment--fades, then returns. It sounds almost like a rather small horse trotting around in some agitation... And yet, distinctly, the sound of Cain's voice can be heard in and through all these tiny hoofbeats... On good final clatter of hooves on wood, a ruffling sound almost like feathers being straightened, one confused meow (how many more animals need be involved?), and then Cain's voice comes through loud and clear: ))
In all my years in the City, never, ever, in the whole of my five years here, have I ever awoken as a horse.
A cat, yes, more than once. A raven once, at least. A doll, a woman, a child--yes, all of these things.
But never as a horse.
((Clattering and ruffling again.))
Although, permit me to clarify that: I have never woken up as a horse, and certainly never as a unicorn, and most certainly never as a unicorn with wings.
Nor do I think I should like to again.
I am a horse, with a horn, and with wings--and there are few things in the world more ridiculous than this.
I think nothing more need be said about this.
((Another hoofbeat or two.))
Save, perhaps, for the difficulty one encounters in dealing with hooves.
((Changing the subject!))
The Carousel is more interesting anyway, though I'm not yet certain how to interpret all these things: the marks most all of us found on our persons yesterday, these transformations today--because I do know I'm not alone in this sort of shape, nor does there seem to be much variation in shape, and the apparent decay of the Carousel. I don't know yet if they're connected. If they are, then perhaps we're the carousel horses somehow. If they're not, then it's another instance of a curse happening at the same time as some other ordeal. There were irises growing in the sinks during the attacks from the 'Hair Monster' some years ago, for example. So the question is whether these not immediately connected details are, in fact, connected.
The Carousel has been seen to be decaying, even seeming to be on the point of collapse. I've seen it, certainly. Although it keeps turning, for which, I suppose, we should be grateful. And yet, this decay seems not to be entirely constant--it seems as though in one instance, the Carousel is deteriorating, and in another, it seems as it always has. That, alone, is enough to make me suspicious. Whether it's an illusion or some significant change, I don't yet know.
Really, I only mention it because when things happen to the Clock or the Carousel, the rest of the City does, indeed, seem to suffer. It does one well to pay attention to the Clock and the Carousel.
But what it all means I'm not yet sure. I think I may take a walk down there to have another look at it. A ruined Carousel in the City is nothing to ignore.
After all, it was the Carousel itself that brought me from London and into the City.

[ooc: Action at the Carousel or Network, as you please! Cain is, indeed, a flying unicorn pony today. But the most goffick one evar!!!1 He has a horn and wings because, idk, he's messed up. Also, the cape covers his mark, but trust me when I say it's a pile of skulls and roses and crosses and goth stuff. Because, you know, it's Cain...]

I want to see unicorn!Cain. [Yes, she's kind of enjoying this.]
[But there he is, via video...]
You seem to have taken to all this rather well.
Nothing to speak of--some roses and that sort of thing. And, it's probably unbecoming to ask, but what's on yours?
And don't worry. I was the unbecoming one first. It's a crown with daisies. [
Because her mun finally decided a machine gun was too mean.][video]
That sounds rather charming, actually. I suppose you don't object to it.
This is my very first time as an animal of any kind. I think we're lucky to have horns. I've been using mine a lot to get around.
Though I will post about that in the future!Do you think we can?[video]
