Good morning! I'm very confused by all of this, so I am hoping somebody will help me?? My name is Lakshmi, I just arrived here this morning. I landed in the fountain!

What is this place? Is it magic?

Where I am from, all magic is either part of the gods or demons. Is it either of those doing magic here?

I do not believe that there are gods or demons here. There are only forces that we need to learn about still and they may be exotic forces but not gods and demons. I think sometimes it is most likely that we are held here by an advanced species that wants to learn about us.

It was prior to the overthrow of the previous overseers. Those who now claim to be in charge do not have as many answers.

Tristero and Deacon and a woman whos name I have not seen on the network. I have not tried to speak with them but I have followed their communications.

I see! I will keep an eye out for any of those names, then. Perhaps they can answer my questions too.

[And, incidentally, Chekov has been in the City for over a year and half; if any member of the crew has had time to accumulate information regarding the City, it's him.]

It is good to be careful when speaking to them. I do not think that they are as hostile as the "deities" who were here before them but they may be dangerous still.
