My people have been given the run of the City Labs via my authority, Captain James Kirk of the USS Enterprise, at the discretion of the anonymous faction that rid the City of its former captors.
That means anyone who wants to get some actual work done can report here to sign up for the Starfleet Program. Physicists, engineers, sciences, medicine if you're interested in expanding your field — all the sections are going to be geared toward improving our technology and getting us out of here. I've had a look around and for twenty-first century restrictions, it's not too bad. Let me know who you are and what you specialize in, so I can keep track of who's going to be coming and going from the facility. You don't have to be a member of Starfleet to sign up for a job, but it's not exactly light work and if you're not a fan of doing things the hard way, I wouldn't bother. We might have to try building our own equipment from scratch, for that matter.
Oh, and does anyone know where I can get a cheap motorcycle from? Thanks. Also, Stiles, I've got some free time if you do.

Hey, I'd like to meet up with you when you're free. I need to go over a couple of things with you about the City, I'd rather do it in person.
[PRIVATE ; separate starfleet comm frequency]
I can meet with you whenever you are available, sir.
And also, about a motorcycle--you might ask Saya Wallace. She works with old motor vehicles.
[PRIVATE ; separate starfleet comm frequency]
Thanks, Chekov. I'm helping a kid out with his self-defense right now, but I'll be free before taking Captain Janeway to dinner. Can I drop by yours for an hour?
[PRIVATE ; separate starfleet comm frequency]
[Not making any comments about Kirk taking Janeway to dinner. Nope. Not a one.]
[PRIVATE ; separate starfleet comm frequency]
[ Wut, that sounds like he did something wrong with her and wow, Jim's pretty sure he hasn't. ]
[PRIVATE ; separate starfleet comm frequency]
Poor word choice, Captain. Would you like to discuss this Starfleet program?
[PRIVATE ; separate starfleet comm frequency]
No, uh. Well, yeah, I got the City Labs access for you guys to do your thing and so Spock wouldn't complain if he turned up back here. Make the most of the facilities, is my advice.
But I wanted to talk to you about something a little more personal, if you wouldn't mind.
[PRIVATE ; separate starfleet comm frequency]
[He would clearly be more comfortable talking about science.]

Chekov answers the door before Kirk has an opportunity to knock twice.]
Hello, Captain. Would you like to come in, or do you want to see the car?

I'll be gentle with her later, Command grunt honor. Look, ah. Can we sit somewhere private?
[action]
This will be private. Nyota is working still.
